Directions:

Take the local bus from Izu- Nagaoka station, it takes about 10 minutes. Get off at Onsenba-Naka bus stop. It is a 1 minute walk from the bus stop, or you can take a taxi from Izu-Nagaoka station.


Hotel Description:

Nanzanso which opened in 1907 is a quaint historic Japanese hotel beloved by many authors. Yasunari Kawabata (A Nobel Prize winning author) stayed at this hotel during Taisho Era (1912-1926). Hakushu Kitahara stayed here at the beginning of Showa Era (1926-1989).

The sukiya-style buildings, which are detached guest houses still retain the romantic hot spa atmosphere from the Taisho and Showa Eras. The hot spring is directly conducted from 2 original springs and there are 3 different types of hot spring baths. Located in a 6.5 acre site, the hotel is surrounded by pine trees and Japans beloved cherry blossom tree.
Hotel Nanzanso Izu-Nagaoka provides traditional ryokan-style facilities, and its spacious feel exudes the old Taiso and Showa-style atmosphere.

The Nanzanso hotel staff are very attentive, creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere to make you feel at home and relaxed.

There are 3 different types of Japanese hot spring bath, both indoor and open air bath that is wonderful for relaxation and renowned for their curative effects (helping with ailments such as fatigue, rheumatism and nervous disorders).
